Spiderman's Weak Spot

Spiderman!

Awesome moves!

Breathtaking action!

Cool superhero!

 But...

I just wonder how he would manage saving lives in a far countryside with no towering buildings.

(hehehe!)

How to deal with sudden interruptions in you life?

How do you deal with sudden interruptions in your life?

What do you usually feel when your hard worked and time spent plan was suddenly interrupted by unexpected circumstances?

No matter how well you try to put things (plans, meetings, appointments etc.) in order, thoroughly done ahead of time, you still inevitably come across with interruptions.

As expected, normally, we (people) feel very frustrated and it dramatically drags us to the terrain of disappointment and misery.

Interruptions are God’s great advances in your life.

God’s interruptions are like an antidote which gives you temporary pain at first but in the end, it makes you feel better.

The Lord makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever. (Psalm 33:10-11)

So, no matter how well you’re good at planning things in your life, don’t get easily frustrated when sudden interruptions cut in eventually. Always remember that your life is not all about you after all. It’s all about Him.

God’s work is full of surprises. And most of them are coming from these interruptions.

Why five uneven fingers make a hand?

What do you do for a living?

Some of us having white collar jobs would answer so proudly and would even brag about their positions and the amount of salary they receive.

“I’m a businessman and I earn a lot of money.”

“I’m an architect and I receive much more money than you do.”

“I’m a manager and everybody knows me.”

Sometimes, they would even belittle those people earning only ¼ of their monthly income. On the other hand, these people being looked down because of their job, lose their confidence and pity themselves thinking that they have lesser value in the community.

“I’m only a street sweeper and I am ashamed of what I do especially when somebody I know sees me.”

“I envy my batchmate. He is a businessman and he earns a lot of money now. Unlike me, I am only a poor woodcarver.”

“I really don’t like my job and I am not proud of it.”

Truly, we have become more literal because of only looking at the things that we can see.

We should be reminded that we have to answer these two very important questions to understand our point of view towards our job.

1.    Why do you work?

2.   For whom do you work?

Work is a form of worship.

We work not only to pay our bills. But we do it to worship Him.

Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God, not of men. Col. 3:23

Therefore, there should be no room for shame in your heart with what you do in the community as long as you do your best and harm nobody. Every job consists the living community. You take one off and it will stop growing.

Thus,

Five uneven fingers make the hand.

People who should be ashamed of themselves are those who are losing their saltiness for they are no longer useful.

“When salt loses its saltiness, it loses its value.” Matthew 5:13

Think that God is always beside you, watching you finish your job everyday because that’s what Jesus also did for His Father. He came down to earth not to be hailed and served, but instead he humbly served us and finished the job given by His father (even though he doesn't deserve it). Matthew 20:28
