Types of Anger Reaction
1. Slammer – slams anything he sees around him.
2. Hitter – hits the door or the person he is angry to.
3. Quiet – suddenly remains quiet for a long time.
4. Yeller – yells out to the person abruptly.
Which type of anger reaction do you fall in?
I. Problem of Anger
We get easily clouded with our intense personal emotions when stroked with anger. Then, we react severely to the point that we mutate like a tiger, lion or any other fierce creatures ready to devour the person they are angry to.
Man’s anger is natural.
But…
It is vengeful too.
It is not a sin to feel anger. We only commit sin by the way we react to it.
II. The Roots of Anger
Anger comes from media especially from the movies we watch every other day.
If you fill your heart with moral filth, it will react the same way.
Anger has two Ps: Pride and Pleasure.
Anger satisfies these two Ps which make us to sin.
Satan desires factions, destruction, and hate to one another that’s why we have to be careful whenever we feel anger to our brothers and sisters.
Therefore, beware of sinful anger.
III. The Solutions to Anger
Listening is a very effective tool to prevent us from sinful anger.
When we listen, it means we respect and value their perspective.
Listening also helps us understand the circumstances and speak wisely.
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can SAVE you. (James 1:19-21) -NIV
Replace Pride and Pleasure with Patience and Humility.
It is not easy but it can be done.
Remember that anger and vengeance destroy you more than the people you are angry with.
If there’s a right person to be angry, that should be Jesus who was beaten, humiliated, and nailed on the cross with His innocence.
